Mrs Johnston’s P6 class were also learning about Viking food and how they may have preserved food with no electricity. We learnt that the Vikings may have turned their milk into butter to make it last longer. We had a go at making our own butter. It was so much fun!

Year 5 enjoyed listening to a presentation from one of our anti-bullying ambassadors about their final initiative of the year about being rewarded for good manners and kindness. We got off to a flying start thanks to Evie Casement who got Ms Lyness’s coat from the cloakroom before leaving for swimming and Jackson Fisher who hung it up on our return.

Today, some members of the Eco team worked with Gillian and Amy to build our scarecrow for the “Really Rubbish Scarecrow” Competition at Antrim Castle Gardens. They worked really hard and we are super proud of them. We can’t unveil the scarecrow until the competition begins. Wish us luck and feel free to go and visit “Scarecrow Todd” next weekend at Antrim Castle. 🤠🌳🤠

Today, Mrs Cleland’s Year 3s filled their marble jar again which means they got extra outdoor play instead of Numeracy and Phonics. Well done boys and girls! #carrsglenrocks

Year 6 have been learning about the Vikings. This week, we have been exploring what food they would have eaten and how they preserved it! We all helped to make our own butter in class and enjoyed sampling it with some Viking bread! They said it was delicious! No need for sweets or chocolate anymore then…. 😉

Our third and final day of activities - we perfected our axe throwing skills and enjoyed some archery together! Time for lunch and then it’s homeward bound! 🚌 #p7residential
