Special Needs

Picture 1

On occasions some children require extra support with their learning as they progress through school. There can be several reasons for requiring assistance such as; disability, delayed speech, dyslexia, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) etc.

At Carr’s Glen we aim to identify learning problems as early as possible so that interventions can be put in place for your child to get the maximum benefit from their time in school. These interventions may simply be in the form of extra assistance from the teacher, withdrawal for support from our Special Needs Teacher or assistance from a classroom assistant.

Should their be evidence of specific delays in learning we will liaise with yourself and our designated BELB Pyschologist with a view for a formal assessment to diagnose what assisttance may be required. Be assured that our primary aim is for your child to achieve to their full potential and for us as a school to assist in that process.
